Interview with Angerfist: “It is an exciting year indeed”

You are this year’s highest ranked hardcore artist in the DJ mag top 100 (#37), you just released a brand new 3CD-album and on top of that, on November 29th your own event will take place in the Brabanthallen in ’s Hertogenbosch (NL). Sounds like a pretty succesful year, is that also how you experience it?

“It’s an exciting year indeed. Many things happening and many cool things to come. Currently I’m mostly hyped for the event this saturday.”

(How) are you gonna top this in 2015? What are your plans for the upcoming year?

“The Deadfaced Dimension event is somewhat of a kickoff for the world tour that will start in december and will go on into 2015. There will be quite a few new countries on the list as well as the more familiar territory. And of course I will keep making new music in 2015. There are already some plans for new projects that will start when the busiest part of the tour has passed.”

Last week you released your album ‘The Deadfaced Dimension’. Can you tell something about the creation of this album?

“I’ve been working on it since the beginning of the summer. In my opinion this is my best album so far because of the diversity in tracks and styles. I also did collaborations and remixes with many artists that all have their own unique style and helped make the album to what it is. I’m proud of the result.”

How did everyone react?

“Fans seem to agree with me, all feedback has been very good. When I play the tracks on my gigs, the response is great as well. You never know how people will react when you release something, so I’m happy with all the positivity around it.”

Do you have any favorite tracks you are extra proud of?

“It’s not easy to choose from all these tracks, but my personal favorite of the album has to be “Messing With The Wrong Man”. I really like the oldskoolish amen breaks with that rumbling bassline under it. The 200 bpm aggressive beats, synths and screaming vocals are just perfect for closing a set with and to get the crowd in destruction mode.”

You teamed up with Art of Dance for your own event in the Brabanthallen on november 29th. How did that go?

“After the succesful previous events and tours that I did with Art Of Dance I knew that they would be the best choice to team up with for The Deadfaced Dimension. I got the idea for this project and they were very interested. So we sat down and started planning the event.”

Support acts for this event are among others Miss K8, Partyraiser, Peacock and Wasted Mind. What does it mean to you that all these artist will join you at this event?

“It’s great. Again, all have their own style and will add bigtime to the vibe of the event. I will also perform together with many of them, which will be cool. Really looking forward to it.”

Can you give us a sneak preview? What can we expect?

“The visual world of ‘The Deadfaced Dimension’ will be a secret until the doors open on Saturday. Of course I released the album already, so all fans can musically prepare themselves for the coming madness on-stage. The stage contains big build silo’s, brutal led walls, destructive sound and the best light, laser and flamethrowers available. The final outcome is only for those who enter the Angerfist domain :)”

Do you have a message for everyone that will come to your event on November 29th or the people that are still considering it?

“If you’re a real hardcorehead, you don’t want to miss this one. It’s going to be a violent madhouse. Come prepared and raise your FIST!”
