The goddess of hardcore Miss K8 is gearing up for one of the biggest years of her career. Shaking off the COVID times and leaping into an exciting new chapter, K8 is more than ready to take things to the next level with the release of her second artist album “Eclipse”, which will come out in July 2022. She shares some exciting news about her forthcoming album, its collaborations and sound, as well as her grand homecoming to the Masters of Hardcore event.
Hey K8! Thanks for catching up with us today. How have you been?
Hi! I’m great, and I hope you’re doing well. It has been a strange time for all of us for the past two years, and it’s exciting to see venues and events opening their doors again all over the planet. And this time, it seems it’s for real. We are coming close to a post-covid world, and I’m very happy about it.
So, we hear you’ve been busy working on your brand-new album ‘Eclipse’. Tell us everything we need to know about it!
It has been, and is, quite a ride. Like many of you know, it was supposed to come out some time ago, but I decided to postpone it because of the pandemic. I didn’t want to release an album in such a negative period.
But it’s starting to take shape now, and I honestly can’t wait to release my second solo album “Eclipse”. It will be out in July 2022 on Masters of Hardcore records with a dedicated showcase at the world’s biggest hardcore event, Dominator.
What is behind the title itself ‘Eclipse’?
I think the whole event of a celestial eclipse is just fascinating. The idea of light, in a way, being pushed aside by shadow and darkness is just a cool idea that is very fitting for a diverse hardcore album like this.
What sort of sound can we expect on the album?
As I said, it will be diverse. I like many styles and sub-streams within the harder styles, and many will be represented on the album as well.
Will there be any collaborations that you can announce already?
Of course! I’m proud to announce some fierce collaborations and remixes with Angerfist, N-Vitral, AniMe and several unexpected artists.
What has been the biggest challenge so far with the album? (and how did you overcome it?)
COVID-19 was a severe challenge. It heavily affected my inspiration and the entire planning of the album release. However, now that the end of the pandemic is in sight, I have a much more positive outlook on everything and am ready to be able to drop this bomb finally.
When can we expect to hear some new music from ‘Eclipse’?
I’m still deciding which tracks need videoclips and which don’t, and I’m still unsure which tracks to put out into the world first. With that being said, the first preview should be online somewhere around May.
What’s something about MOH that makes the event so unique?
It’s my favourite indoor hardcore event in the world. It has such a huge legacy going back many years. The atmosphere is created by the visitors that are excited to be there and have been looking forward to it since they bought the ticket. You can feel that in the air. The impressive stage design and shows and of course the artists that perform there play a significant role too. It’s all these things combined that make it the perfect storm.
What has been your fondest MOH memory?
The very first time I visited MOH in 2011, I was blown away by the size and epicness of the event! Of course, I will never forget Raiders of Rampage, the MOH 2016 edition. This was one of the most memorable highlights of my career. I made the anthem that year, and during my set, I was hovering inside a massive Viking boat above the most dedicated fans. It was a fantastic feeling, and I will never forget it!
Do you have any last words for our readers?
I have goosebumps from all the excitement that I can see all of you again! Keep it hardcore.
Thanks to Miss K8 for this interview! Her next release will “Legacy” with AniMe, which will be out on April 15th. Stay tuned on our social media for all the latest developments on the ‘Eclipse’ album.
